I have seen the break and shake light sticks everywhere , but haven't seen any wind up light sources lately.
Are they still being manufactured?

Energizer makes a real handy one. It's got an L.E.D. light with a radio and cell phone charger all in one. It's a hand crank model so you never run out of juice.

I had not heard about the Energizer wind up LED. Do you know where they can be found at?

our children have one of those wind-up lights. I never thought of using that as an emergency item I can see how it really is!

Energizer is a great brand. You never need batteries. It really isn't expensive at all. I love them and it's on my Christmas list. What a perfect flashlight to take with you on hikes and such.
Thanks for the link!

We have had our shake light for several years. I think we paid twenty bucks for it at a hardware store. I was worried that it would not be reliable, but we've never had any problems and it's been dropped many many times. As our other flashlights wear out or are lost, I will definitely replace them with shake lights!
