I wonder which type of medicines to have on a survival trip. I could think of few diabetes pills and some first aid stuffs but I feel empty with this alone. Is there any medicines which can perform multi tasks.

Penicillin, with proper research taken into the dosage amounts. The nice thing about the 'cillin family is that over time, the penicillin grows WEAKER, not STRONGER. Therefore, it's harder to overdose with an older supply of 'cillin. Some doctors even understand this need for medication, if you approach it in the right way. For instance, if you ask a doctor for a 'cillin Rx because you are traveling to a third world country, your doctor will be more apt to write a Rx for 'cillin.

Other than the penicillins, a Rx pain killer would be nice to have as well. Hopefully, something that isn't addictive or an opiate.

Don't forget the easy stuff, like vitamins. Iodine (for radiation issues), vitamin C (to prevent scurvy, and also to boost your immune system), general multivitamins, and vitamin B (natural insect repellant).

Antibacterial soap. Too often do I see this important part left out. If you don't have a way to disinfect your hands after cleaning game (or to clean a wound), you can get some nasty bugs.
