Let's say you wake up tomorrow morning and TS has HTF. Power grid is down, government and order has disappeared, no gasoline left at the pumps, the food stores are empty, and the US currency is worthless (nevermind the fact that there is nothing to buy with that money).

As you assess the situation and go over your preps, what would be the one thing you wish you would have purchased (or purchased more of) or what skill would you wish you had acquired?

I have a couple acres of ground that I mow. If I woke up to that scenerio tomorrow, I would be kicking myself for not having that ground broke for food production because now it would have to be done with hand powered tools.

I would have regrets for those that never had the chances to learn the skills I have used nearly all my life and whose lives now may be forfit because of their lack of those common skills to survive. I will also regret that I will have to turn my back on those same poor people to provide for the security and longevity of my family and friends. No man or woman can ever think themselves that hardened to not dread that aspect of WSHTF.

My personal regret is that I didn't get back into prepping earlier. So my supplies are somewhat limited compared to where I'd like them to be. My life regret is that I seem to be unable to encourage others (especially those close to me) to take preparing for emergencies seriously. Nearly everyone I know is woefully unprepared for even a short interruption of the supply chain. Yet, despite a lot of effort and discussions, I am unable to convince those close to me that they should make some preparations.

My regret is that I would not have the amount of supplies that I know I should have on hand. My food supplies have depleted themselves quite badly over the last year. :x Thats my fear.

I've been trying to get people to have some basic preps in order for 3 years. Even with the warning signs written in bright red, I've only had 4 of them even consider the possibility that things could go wrong and there won't be any help coming.
The depression generation is almost gone now and those of us that grew up post WWll have only known prosperity. Why should that change? This IS America. It CAN'T happen HERE.

I would regret not having all the self-sufficiency tools that I would like. Whether it be farming equipment, or homesteading tools.

I think I would feel better prepared if I knew that I had the physical tools necessary to farm and can/preserve/store the food.
