I would like to know what type of emergency are you planning for ? Which emergency situation are you making or you feel that you should get ready for.

Economic collapse is a big #1 on my agenda. Living in Phoenix, the situation in Mexico is also a big concern. Then, biologic and chemical, followed by nuclear or dirty bomb attack. Living in Phoenix, the situation in Mexico is also a big concern.

I'm looking for the economic recession which has been taken by job away and I can be 100% sure that I was not expecting it.

I am not planning for one disaster/emergency in general. I am just trying to be prepared to handle whatever comes my way. I concentrate mainly on Food, clothing, heat and power. With any luck I can bug in and survive for a very long time. It does help that I live on the edge of small town and have prime hunting areas within walking distance.

I prepare less by type of disaster than I do by basic needs. The needs are pretty much the same, no matter what the disaster. As I meet my goals for the basics I do specific things for specific disasters. There really aren't that many individual elements that aren't appropriate for several sets of circumstances. My ultimate goal is to be as self-sufficient for as long of a period as it is practical to be in modern society.

This is a list of the things I consider when I’m making preps, in no specific order after the first four:

Hahahahahahah Jerry, good one...........however, if you are not ready for all of them then you are not ready at all.

One of my preparations includes a small farm overseas, only hope that I can get to it when the time comes.

Remember amigos that ..........."Te be ready is not"... Ponce

People who live near the coast know a thing or two about environmental hazards. They know, for instance, the risks of hurricanes and those of storm-surge damage from other powerful storms. But now coastal communities are at growing risk from the effects of climate change, most notably the accelerated rise in sea levels.

Scientists' measurements show that sea levels around the globe have risen by about 1.3 inches per decade since 1990. Precise measurements from satellites as well as tide gauges indicate that this rise has accelerated over the past 20 years, up from the previous rate of 0.7 inch per decade in the last half of the twentieth century. New research suggests that if we continue pumping carbon dioxide into our atmosphere at a high rate globally, the water level along the coasts could rise another 2.6 to 5.3 feet in the next 100 years.

My personal viewpoint on emergency prep is that our society is changing so fast that it is bound to crash soon. We are moving so fast as a society, in terms of population, technology, culture, that we are bound to self-destruct. Look at the Romans. They had a society that lasted hundreds of years yet their level of technology stayed practically the same. Our society is moving in leaps and bounds that cannot be accurately foreseen in all ways, most importantly technology. All the past major cultures of this planet have blow away like dust on the wind. What makes us any different? Therefore I believe that to be prepared for any and all disasters, either man made or natural is the most prudent choice.
Do I look forward to living in a remote wilderness location with no running water, electricity and prepackaged food? Not really. But if that is the difference between death or worse then I will gladly take it. So take any survival scenario and I am prepping for it. :)
