I myself don't own any guns, though I do have a slingshot. ;)

I don't consider them firearms, but I do like to plink away at paper targets with my pellet guns. I've got (2) .177 caliber air rifles, and (1) BB gun. I've also got a nice wrist rocket slingshot thats alot of fun on camping trips.

I'm considering / investigating getting a stun gun for personal protection though. Any thoughts?

I've got a slingshot as well, thought the ammo pellets are too heavy to keep in my pack. Of course, there are plenty of pebbles t be found and used s ammo if needed.

Okay I'll be the resident gun nut. I carry on my person everyday a .40 Glock 23 and a Keltec .380. I have a CHL so it is legal to do so here in Texas. I also keep behind my back seat of my truck a .22 rifle with about 1000 rounds of ammunition. I figure if I am ever thrust into a survival / bug out situation I will have the .22 to hunt small game with and the .40 for personal protection. I keep extra mags / ammo in my bugout bag for all of my firearms I carry with me everyday.

I was trained in firing small weapons. However I don't have a firearm now. I always carry a swiss knife during emergency situations.

Re: my slingshot - I carry half a dozen ball bearings for when I want / need absolute accuracy. perfect pebbles are not as common as I'd like. bearings are not too heavy and I can supplement with pebbles as needed.

I've been considering getting a .22 rifle or possible a .22 pistol for small game poaching, (in a survival situation only.)

This was my thought exactly. 1000 rounds of .22 ammo doesn't weigh that much compared to a large caliber weapon. So you can carry more ammo for less weight and still be able to hunt small game in a survival situation.
