Brought home a new 700 SPS in 308. 26" Heavy barrel. Burris Fullfield II for the glass. Harris bi-pod hanging on the front. I am hopeful to have it zeroed by the end of the weekend. Already digging on the sites to find the bestest/cheapest/accuratest ammo. Gonna cost 90 cents a pop with local ammo. Will be a good week long project in Mid-America! :D

Hey Uncle Joe! Thank you for the link on the ammo. Order will be placed in the morning. Range is open Thursday so I will need re-stocking! Stay alert!

No problem. I inherited a mauser 98 a few weeks ago. I took it to the gun shop and went looking for 8mm while it's there. Wally World doesn't carry it and the big box sporting outlets want $32.50 for a box of 20. I went looking online and found them. 900 rounds for $200. :D

Zeroed! The Rem 308 shoots sub .50's with the son at the trigger. Sub .75's with the "old man" behind the glass. While not expecting to have to ever be a full time sniper, we do have the skills and the means to feed ourselves if or when the "teotwawki" occurs. . . . that is if the game animals can survive the event along with us! This week I replenished the ammo I shot in zeroing and practicing and enjoying my rights under the 2nd!

Live ready, live long.

This week I picked up 2 magazines for my M-1 Carbine, 2 5-gallon surplus water bladders, 2 gas masks, a case of Mainstay water rations for my BOBs, a new Gerber Suspension multi-tool and a 4-pack of German surplus sewing kits.

Went a little crazy at Sams Club today. Spent about $315 on all sorts of canned goods, dried goods, bagged rice and paper products. I also picked up a nice, 326-piece briefcase-style first aid kit, which I can break down into several smaller kits. Although, I'm considering keeping it as my basic home kit. I have a large EMT style kit that I've had for years, which is also nice.

Worked on my pocket fishing kits today. I also packed up the bulk of my vehicle BOB. Just need to add a few more things, but it's quite well-stocked. Now I have to get to work on my larger BOB.
