some of us still use newspapers, my dad is one of these people, what can we do with old ones?

oh my your possibilities are endless....
fire starters
insulation
makeshift papertowel
cat litter when in a pinch...
uhm....Hinderwipe when in a very big pinch. (anything is better then a pine cone or leaf!!)

As said above, the use are endless. If you have a basement store it and use it for the things mentioned above.

We quit getting the "paper" newspaper, but when we did, I used to wash windows with them.
Take a quart bottle, put 1/4 cup vinegar and ONE drip of dish soap, then fill with water. Squirt the windows and wipe till shiney with the black and white newspapers.
alternatively, I used to tear them into strips and put them on the compost heap.
We tried making the "logs" out of them and they just made way too much ash.

I don't subscribe to the paper, I think it is a waste of money. Occasionally we will go buy one for whatever reason comes up. I save them and use them and other paper as tinder when we have our back yard camp fires.
