Handy contraption. One caution though ... depending on where you live, some municiple supplies go into bypass mode (no water treatment) when the power has been out a few days. Check with your local water authority to see if you happen to live in one of those areas. If the powers been out awhile before filling the bladder, you may want to consider boiling/treating the water as you would others sources as a precautionary measure ... but the important thing is you'll have the water cache.

If you want something more portable and permanent, check out www.camelbak.com , go
to their military section and check out their squad pack. It is a 26 liter dedicated hydration back pack.

The squad pack is a little pricey, but definetly a quality portable unit.
How often do you need to cleanse or replace the bladder?
Do you use the camelbak cleanse tabs or recommend an alternate solution?

I've only used it once, and i used the camelbak cleanser the took a hair drier and forced warm air into it
to dry it out. You could get away with soapy water and a good rinse the key is to dry it out good so it
doesn't mold up on you.

I am going to add this to my list of things to buy. I was thinking about using a twin size waterbed mattress but they run about $100.

That tub could be a great resource for an emergency on disasters. It could give us a good amount of water supply for a longer time.SEO Services

I love this idea! The tub in my house doesn't hold water well on its own- it slowly drains even during regular baths.
THANK YOU for the link!
