At times of emergency fresh drinking water would be one of the most important item that needs to b e stored. I would recommend that you should have portable and stationary water storage. Portable water storage should be light enough for a person to carry.

I do carry small storage systems with me when ever I go for small or large trips. I have a tank which I store water from the roof top to collect the water that is flowing out from the roof.

Portable and stationary water storage can carry only small amount and wont last long but in a situation like that it would be so helpful Once i was camping and i ran out of water.

How much water are you talking about? In my BOB I can max out at 9 liters between the 2 hydration

bladders. Then there is my CamelBak, squad pack which is a dedicated hydration backpack and

holds 26 liters.

I guess my old school military attitude shows here.

I have surplus LCE pistol belt and suspenders with 2 1Qt canteens with canteen cups on the belt. On my Alice pack I have 2 2QT canteens, 1 hanging on each side. This gives me a gallon and a half on me if I have to head out. Since I travel a lot for work, I have a cooler in my work van with bottled water and other drinks with me. I always leave space in my BOB in case I come across something I can scrounge. This extra water and drinks would get packed in my BOB as well.

I do not carry as much water on me as some people do, but I have the means to filter and purify 500+ gallons in my BOB as well. With the areas I would be in if something happened, locating water would not be a problem for me and I know my area well.

Hey, I carry a filter and tablets as well, but if i'm on foot and it's a long haul between water holes,
this gives me the option to carry more water without adding a lot of weight to my BOB. I also have
my filter set up so that i can plug it into the drinking hose of my hydration bladder. This way i don't
have to take the bladder out of my pack, for that matter I don't have to take the pack off to refill.
