Well I can see other uses for Toilet paper in a survival situation such as kindling for starting a fire but it is really just a luxury. I see no reason to carry it for survival unless you just have extra space.

some countries have major Typhus and cholera outbreaks because of sanitation procedures. It is a good idea to get Biodegradable types, like the ones made from corn starch or soy. That degrade within a few hours into pulp. You have to figure on ration 1 double roll four pack every other week, so about 120 packages will last a little while.

Julie- You can't possibly think that we could carry that much toilet paper with us in a pack? :) Yes I can see if we are traveling we need to take TP- I have it in the glove box actually. Just 1 roll though. I would use leaves and other things if I was out lost or needing to survive. I would not waste the packing space.

I wouldn't think it would be a necessity however if you going on a camping/hiking trip or somewhere you will be staying outdoors it might not hurt to have some unless you are really familiar with plant life. It would really suck to find out you just cleaned up with poison oak, ivy or sumac leaves.. :o

The toilet paper is a very very valuable utility, It is a must to carry, when we go for wilderness trips. It can of course be used for multi purpose...
