Does anyone still consider this a must have? I still have mine from when I was young. It does all sorts of things.

The swiss army knife is a multi tool device, I got it as my birthday gift from my cousin, It's a very very useful tool indeed, the one which I have, even has a catchy flash light attached with it.

We have these in our packs for whenever we go out. It saves having to pack all these things separately so the convenience alone makes it a must.

Yeah the swiss army knife is very famous because it's a multipurpose tool, which can be kept handy at all times. And it does not even weigh much, so what else do you need...

I took my hubby Swiss Classic and I have the SwissCard. If you find one that does what you want it to its great. We were at the Knife museum at Smokey Mountain Knife Works and they have one that has over 200 items! Has anyone been to the site to see whats new?
if you haven't here is the link, if you don't mind me posting it.
I think these are wonderful for everyday use as well. They have come in so handy at work.

Swiss army knife, is a classic tool, which one must have during a wilderness trip, being a multi tool device, it will surely be very beneficial.

I actually gave my son his first army knife just a few weeks back. I had several when I was a kid and I really love these Swiss army knives.

IMO the Swiss Army knife is a good knife for a kid. It has enough things in it to keep a kid's interest, and is also a good piece to teach kids about knives.

I don't think they are all that useful for survival. IMO a multi tool such as a leatherman would be a lot more beneficial in a survival situation.

The problem with the Swiss Army Knife is that it compromises too much on the quality of the features (saw blade, knife blade, can opener, etc). A multi tool (Gerber, Leatherman) is much more useful than a 3" knife that poorly accomplishes most tasks.
