What will be the steps would you take to survive in an accidental situation where you are alone and losing blood frequently. Is there any tips to survive at that situation given that you are conscious and can move.

Well for example when you have a big cut on your arm or leg then you should try to slow down the blood supply to the wound. You could use a belt, tie or a piece of string.

The best option available right now is to use a product called QuickClot.

In 2002, Z-Medica Corporation's launch of QuikClot® brand hemostatic agent changed the world of hemostasis forever and brought the promise of saving the lives of untold accident and battlefield victims around the world who would otherwise bleed to death before reaching a surgical setting.

QuikClot® is the invention of former NASA engineer, scientist and Z-Medica co-founder Francis X. Hursey who thought outside the box while working with the mineral material at the core of QuikClot® while experimenting with it for a totally different purpose. His amazing product rapidly stops moderate to severe arterial and venous bleeding and is easily applied by even non-medical personnel. It is also in the forefront of hemostatic nano-technology.

QuikClot® is the original formulation of this lifesaving technology from Z-Medica Corporation. It is in a granular form and is poured directly into the wound. In certain applications, particularly in military usage, QuikClot® is the formulation of choice as it conforms exactly to even the largest and most serious wounds. QuikClot® is easily opened and self-applied or buddy-applied.

QuikClot® comes in 3.5-ounce packets (100g), packaged for military and first responder use in the field. It is also available in a Z-Medica TraumaPak™, along with a pressure bandage and high volume gauze. The original QuikClot® has a five-year shelf-life.

It's not the cheapest product...but works extremely well. It's widely used by the US Army.

If it's in your pack, but you don't know how to use it...it's useless. So, always test your skills as a form of preparation...Don't wait until your life depends on it. That's a lesson you don't want to learn the hard way.
