When my children turned 16 and were able to drive, I gave each of them a car survival kit for Christmas. I don't think that they were too thrilled with them, but it was something that I felt each needed to keep in their car. My now 20 yr old uses his tow chain all the time helping others who get stuck in the snow.
Have you ever given a survival kit as a gift?

I haven't thought of giving survival kits as a gift before. It does seems like a very good gift regarding the use of it in a emergency situation. I would certainly go with survival kits as gifts in this festival gifts.

I've given those handy little "emergency hammers" to some relatives as Christmas gifts. You know the ones that break a window and cut a seatbelt. This year I'm also giving my brother a nice K-Bar knife.
