Surveillance cameras are popping up in intersections in our city. Of course we are told it is for our protection.
That is the last step in surveillance I am willing to accept without a fight, though. I want to make sure there isn't a surveillance camera that gets shots of my front door, or back yard.
Remember Google's street level pix? I took a look at my address. Luckily, the picture is outdated and no cars are parked in front, but I wonder if there is a way to get Google to remove these pix from their website. After all, it isn't as if we are selling our home and expecting people to look at the front door or any interiors.
Has anyone tried getting photos of their property removed from Google without taking them to court?

In London for example they have many cameras on the streets. They say there is not an inch of the center of London which is not covered by at least one camera.

The funny thing about traffic cameras is that they actually CAUSE more accidents. Numerous studies have found that accidents at an intersection rise once these cameras are installed.
The reason for this is simple- people slam on their brakes at yellow lights now. They know once it turns red they will get a ticket!

Thankfully I've yet to see any in my area. However, I'm sure that the day will come soon...

Yes, for Street View, or whatever it's called. Takes around 48 hours to remove the images.
