I'm curious to see what people have done to modify their vehicles for a "get out of dodge" situation. Do you have a special designated vehicle for this purpose or would you use your every day vehicle. If it's your every day vehicle, have you done anything to get it "SHTF ready"?

I'd like to get some ideas for my on vehicle. Thanks!

I plan on just using my truck.

A lot depends on what the situation is. I also have a small camper that I would take with me. I figure if I can drive out that I should be able to take the camper along. It can hold one hell of a lot of gear and provide shelter along the way and at the destination as well.

I also have plans and some equipment in place if I can't drive out. It would limit what I can take and be slow going, but it can be done. Something I have been looking at is making and placing caches that would contain food, water and other items that would need to be replenished along my route.
