Safety pins can be a multiple use item. It can be used as a clothespins, backpack security and needle. However they can be quite useful since they are almost weightless with less efficiency.

I used safety pins when I nursed my boys. It helped me remember which side to start on. I put the saftey pin on the nursing bra side that I ended on to know to start on the other side at the next feeding.
