Witch Hazel Cleaning Tonic Witch hazel has long been known to have astringent qualities. The liquid you can find in the shelves of drug store is an herbal extract with exceptional cleansing, soothing, and healing properties. It was originally used by Native Americans, who used witch hazel bark and twigs in many therapeutic applications and passed on their knowledge to the settlers.
To make your own old fashioned witch hazel astringent, combine 1 cup of witch-hazel with 2 tablespoons of alcohol and apply it to your skin with cotton ball. If you are sensitive to alcohol, you can substitute it with 1/4 cup of white vinegar.

Removing blackheads can easily be done with lemon. Citrus is naturally exfoliate, which makes lemon useful when it comes to fighting blackheads in your cleansing routine. Cut the lemon in half then rub it directly on your face before going to bed.
You can also extract lemon juice with a citrus reamer, remove the seeds and then add 2 tablespoons of rosewater. Mix the lemon juice and rosewater together and your tonic will be more fragrant.

Another natural tonic is honey and nutmeg scar remover wash. This treatment is meant to help heal the scars caused by skin eruptions, skin accidents, and acne.
To make honey and nutmeg scare remover, combine 1 teaspoon of nutmeg with 1 teaspoon of honey, and mix them together. Apply them to your face and leave them for 20 minutes. Then, rinse it with cool water. Use it twice a week.

I always keep white vinegar, baking soda, fresh garlic and honey on hand.
Vinegar: hair rinse, gargle for sore throat, gold for colds (I drink 2-TBL in an 8 oz. glass of cold water, twice a day; it helps with congestion and I feel perkier afterwards), mild antiseptic on minor cuts: I bathe in a cup or so in my bath water; I think it helps keep my skin in good condition, and it feels refeshing. It also deodorizes; you can also put a saucer of it in a freshly-painted room to help get rid of the paint odor. Once a month, I pour it into the detergent cup in the dishwaher, and run the dishwasher on empty (and sometimes with dishes; makes them sparkle). This helps to clean the system. I also do this with the washing machine. I also use slightly-diluted vinegar (cider is best) as a facial toner. Stinks, but I think it helps my skin, which is very sensitive.
Baking soda: most of the same uses as vinegar. Both vinegar and baking soda are good, when diluted with water in some fashion, to help soothe sunburn and minor cuts and skin irritations. Mix a small amount with cat litter to cut down on the smell, but don't use a lot--it will foam when used, and may scare the cat; they may not use the litter again. Sprinkle a cup or more of baking soda on the carpet before vacuuming--it will deodorize it. If my cats urinate on their bedding (as long as it's very minor, not soaked), I wash their bedding separately with a cup or so of either vinegar or baking soda to remove the odor.
Honey: I put it on minor cuts, and also wash my face with a few times a week. I think it softens my skins, and keeps it youthful. I hate the smell of the stuff, and the stickiness, though! When washing your skin with it, wet your palms first, then squeeze a dollop of honey in them , and mix it before applying to your face. Cheap honey works very well. Also good for sore throats.
Garlic (fresh only): I discovered that it helps heal minor cuts. I had knicked my finger while cutting garlic...peel a clove, and press on the cut. It will sting, but that goes away. When you have a cold or the flu, eat meals that use a clove or 2 of fresh garlic. I find it helps. However, if you are anemic, it may have an adverse effect on your blood's red cell count...but i'm severely anemic, and don't notice a difference, and I eat garlic often (I was diagnosed years berore I ever ate garlic, BTW).

Never heard about garlic on cuts. I'll have to remember to try that one next time. Thanks!

Lemon contain many minerals and body thrives on a delicate balance of acid and alkali. Each organ and tissue of the human body has a particular acid-alkali balance called the "pH" at which it functions best. The conventional Western diet, rich in sugar, grain products, and processed foods affects our pH balance and can leave the body acidic - to an extent that viruses, bacteria, are able to take up residence. The minerals are then 100% bioavailable because they have been naturally chelated by the Fulvic. Mineral complexes from rock, clay, salt beds or lakes are inorganic because they have never been assimilated by a plant and reduced to an ionic form.
