Someone once told me; "there are no stupid questions, only stupid people that think they know everything". If you don't know something, the only way to learn is to ask questions.
We get our grains (to supplement what we grow) from a "feed and tack" store. In case you're not familiar, tack is horse related supplies. Wheat, corn and soybean are $10.00 for a 50lb sack. Barley is $13 a sack.
Keep in mind, when you get grain from a feed store it isn't the nice clean grain you would get in #10 cans from an emergency supplies outlet. There will be bits of straw and maybe a few dead bugs in it. I have a 1'x2' screen bottomed tray that I pour some of the grain into, toss it in the air to let the wind carry the chaff away and then pick any dead bugs out by hand. Then it gets packed into the buckets with some diatomaceous earth to kill any insects that hatch from the ever present eggs that you can't see.

Hope this helps.
