I was in Target the other day and surprised to see Quick Clot products available in their first aid aisle. Also, apparently QuickClot manufactures a new product that is geared for use to stop nosebleeds. I was thinking that this might be a good deal since it's designed for smaller bleeding issues.

With what I have heard about quick clot coming from Iraq and Afghanistan, I don't know if I would want to use it for a nose bleed or other minor problem. I heard this stuff has to be completely removed when they do surgery to patch soldiers up, or it will cause very bad infections. I can see where this would be useful in a true emergency, but be careful.

I don't know and also don't know where to find out. That is why I recommend to be cautious and only use this for real emergencies. For someone who is anemic and could bleed out, I can understand using this. Otherwise, nose bleeds go away. I have had plenty of them.

I think it is always best to clean the wound, dress it, but let it have some air. Reclean often and redress, but not allowing the air to interact slows the healing process a lot. Sam N Medical Insurance
