I've noticed several photo attachments to the threads are no longer available. Is this a bug, or were the photos purposely removed?

Can you post and example so I can look into it? Thanks and welcome to the forum!

None of the photo attachments are visible to me...not sure how to post an example of that.

I know what you mean now. I just did a sample post and the attachments was viewable. There seems to be an error in the file permissions for the older posts. The forum was recently updated to the new version and after doing a bit of research I see that this problem has happened on other sites as well. I will be looking into it today to see if i can correct it.

I took a closer look, and there are two symptons. In one case, the name of the image attachment is listed, but the image is not displayed nor can you click on the link to it. Here's an example:

Another example is where you can click on the image link attachment, but you get an error message. On this thread:

I get this error message on the first image attachment:

"The selected attachment does not exist anymore.

The file ./../files/948_f75dfdc7f66e8bc09603c08e1f978b02 does not exist."

Any luck in getting this fixed?

It is work in progress still. It appears that the pictures might have been lost due to an upgrade in the phpBB3 software that is used to run this forum. It has happened to other forums out there as well. I haven't found a good fix for it yet. I've gone through some posts and manually added pictures back but that is a lot of work since there are so many posts here. I'm still trying to get this one resolved since the pictures can really add alot to the posts.

Do you regularly backup the site?
