Kit Contents
4 packs of Iosat Potassium Iodide
1 bottle of ThyroShield Potassium Iodide
1 8oz bottle of Iodowash™
4 Super Absorbent Rad Wipes
1 Rad-Waste bag
1 pair disposable vinyl gloves
3 Radiacwash Towelettes
Instructions

$99.99 ea.

Complete protection from radioactive iodine I-131 during a nuclear radiation emergency or during I-131, I-125 radiation therapy.

Everything needed to protect yourself and your family from radioactive iodine released from a nuclear reactor or nuclear bomb detonation.

Each pack of FDA approved Iosat™ will protect an adult for 2 weeks or a child from 4 to 16 weeks (see Iosat™ package insert)

FDA approved ThyroShield™ will protect an adult for 2 weeks or a child from 4 to 16 weeks (see ThyroShield™ package insert)

Iodowash™ decontaminates radioactive iodine from all surfaces and is gentle enough for use on intact skin. Iodowash decontaminates by chemically binding the radioactive halogen to a small resin sphere (0.6 to 1.2 mm) which can easily be wiped up. Typically a single use will remove up to 100% of the contamination. Although chemically designed to decontaminate I-131, I-125, and I-123, it is equally effective for F-18 and other halogens.

Decontamination Rad-wipes with white absorbent side and bright-orange plastic backing prevent leakage of decontamination fluids to hands, gloves, and countertops. Super absorbent - holds up to 25 times its weight.

The Rad-Waste bag ensures safe handling and disposal of radioactive clothing/gloves/wipes. Imprinted with standard radiation symbol on yellow color bag. Tie-wrap included.

Radiacwash™ Towelettes are individually packaged and remove radiation from hands and small objects.

Additional Iosat™, ThyroShield™ and Iodowash™ can be purchased separately.

Holy cow that's a ripoff! All you need is iodine pills, the iodine wipes won't do any good. Iodine pills are designed so that your thyroid is super-saturated with iodine, and does not absorb any of the radioactive iodine. I'm not even going to ask what a "radbag" is, since tin foil only blocks alpha or beta waves.

As for the deal on removing radioactive dust- any wet towelette will do. It's radioactive dust, not radioactive oil.

Beware of the many frauds out there, these people certainly know how to phrase scary-sounding stuff!

I am constantly amazed at how some companies depends on your not researching the purposes behind their kits. My mother almost bought one of these kits after some guy scared her half to death about fallout.

Puh-leeze!

Actually, my wife works in a hospital and they use the Iodowash (and the orange wipes) that are in the kit to decon radioactive iodine from surfaces if needed during I-131 radiation therapy.

The kit isn't a rip-off but is no bargain as pricing out individually purchasing each item nets the same amount, but the Potassium Iodide tablets are a must. The liquid is not necessary if you can get a crushed pill down a kid's throat.

This company isn't fraudulent, just savvy. At least they have FDA products and tell you what the exp date is. I haven't found that anywhere else on the net.

Is there anywhere online that sells the Iodowash seperately? I've only found it in the kit form online for $100.

You can get the IOSAT potassium iodate pills from Nitro-Pak...They list the expiration date and there are several size quantities that you can purchase. http://www.nitro-pak.com/index.php?cPath=37

I'd also like to know- I just searched Google's shopping engine, and Nitro-Pak is the only retailer. That's kind of suspicious for a large hospital staple, as it is suggested. Are there any other products that are the same as this Iodowash?

Iodowash can be purchased separately from Nukepills.com at http://www.nukepills.com/shop/item.asp?itemid=21.

The exp date of Iosat at Nitro-pak is 2/2014. The exp date at http://www.nukepills.com is 9/2015. And Nukepills.com sells it cheaper - plus buy 9 and get one free.

So, two retailers sell this? What are the odds of it being useful if two people sell this stuff? I'm a bit skeptical, personally.

How likely is it that a family is going to be able to use the Iodowash during nuclear holocaust, assuming you can find the kit among the debris of your home?

How likely will a family be well enough to benefit form using the Iodowash after the initial nuclear insult, and we are talking insult, not the orderly application of substances necessary for nuclear medicine?

I think the kit is a rip off regardless of how useful it is in controlled environments.
