There's a new movie out called '127 Hours'. It's based on a true story about a man that was trapped in a canyon in Utah when he was pinned down by a boulder. He was trapped for 5 days, and had to cut himself loose, or rather cut off the part of him that was trapped.

I'll be interested to see how they portray this. Following his mishap in Utah, he was given a lot of unwarranted/inaccurate bad press. I saw Aron Ralston speak a year or two after this happened, and he's definitely his own worst critic. While--by his own admission--he made mistakes that led to his situation, he also managed to take action on a level unfathomable to most in order to survive.

In short, he's a pretty sharp guy who's continued to do a great deal of "adventuring" since losing his arm. Hopefully the film doesn't portray him--and all outdoor enthusiasts--as reckless thrill seekers.

My husband is looking forward to seeing this movie. I remember when the news first broke about this guy and his story. It propmpted alot of discussion between hubby and I back then.

I also remember a reporter (60 Minutes?) interviewed him and took him back to the canyon.

Has anyone seen this movie yet?
