Greetings,

I came to this forum while researching multi fuel camp stoves, and I liked the info I found.

I was born, raised and still live in the suburbs of Los Angeles. I am far from an outdoorsman, but I am an engineer and possess some skills. Pardon in advance for any survival newbness on my part.

The recent power outage that affected San Diego and reached up into Orange County nearly affected me (it actually did cuz my sis and nephew spent the night), so I thought it would be cool to have a generator to preserve all the food in our 2 refrigerators.

Then I realized that I do not have a defined/dedicated emergency kit, yet I have a wife and 2 boys under 5 y/o to protect and provide for.

I hope that frequenting this forum will spur me into action to consolidate things I do have and encourage me to free up some budget for purchasing new emergency items.

Be safe.
