Have any one went through special training stimulation which can be used during emergency times. I am interested in knowing your experience because we were trained in red cross training methods as a part time volunteer.

I have and in many aspects, they still haven't a clue from lessons learned in past disasters. On the plus side as a certified member, I have the option of staying or leaving in an emergency

I agree. Procedural training for general logistical support, evacuation planning, communication drills (etc) are good to view how well independant teams can gel together in a "controlled" exercise. But once you throw masses of panicked people into the mix, most gov't and civilian responders always seem overwhelmed in my opinion. Only U.S. Military and some fire/police units with their solid command/control structures and flexible personnel seem to employ effective solutions when dealing with chaotic situations. They adapt and overcome ... and that is where I put my faith.

Wether it be CERT or as in Okland CORE, They teach you how to help others and be extra hands, arms and legs for emergency services. What they don't teach to any great extent is how to protect and save yourself. I know what they are thinking, that there will be a percentage that won't survive to be able to help. They are betting the odds.....and your life!
