I was given one of the little folding razorblade knives this morning at a knife store (well, he made me pay 1 cent for it out of some sort of superstition). When I looked up the website, I realized they seem to have a hacksaw version also. http://www.derma-safe.com/folding-utility-saw.htmlAre these the ones you are using? Also, your little can opener, can you point us to where you got it? How well does it work?

I have been carrying the same one since 1982. It has opened every can I ever tried to use it on and I occasionally find other uses for it as well. You can pick one up at an Aymy/Navy surplus store. I think the last time I saw one they were 39 cents. I would recommend carrying one at all times and stick an extra in your BOB as well as one in all of the BOBs in your house.

I was looking at the little thing next to your compass in the photo.
I have the little military can openers, I thought yours was something different. Thank you for answering.

There are two other larger sizes available (called micro and pocket respectively). I got mine online from here: http://countycomm.com/picopry.htm. They have several other nice items with fairly cheap prices. I placed an order for a handful of various items and can say that I was pleased with the transaction and company, even though navigation through their "online store" isn't the best/easiest.

I'm trying to locate the website that I purchased them from. I believe the CountyComm site mentioned in the post above has them as well, but I'm pretty sure I purchased mine from another online retailer. There are several sites that sell these exact (or similar) blades.

The pouch and tin can be purchased at: http://www.bestglide.com/Bags_and_Containers.html. This tin in particular is great because it's a bit larger than your standard altoids tin and it fits perfectly in this pouch.

This is a great idea. I tried to make a kit with the traditional "Altoids" tin but found it too small to hold much. Your tin is not much bigger, but it turns out it is just big enough. I'll be putting together one of these soon! Thanks for the idea and info.

I love this little kit. What a great idea and again, some great inspiration here as I work to put together a kit (or two) of my own.

I use a digital camera bag for my mini kit.
