I just don't like externally framed packs. Grew up with them in the scouts and they were heavy, then
in the military, they broke, Now the new ones are a polymer. Well what is wrong with an internall
framed pack? Every high tech pack I've seen is internally framed. The Kifaru line of packs is
tougher than most, hell their warranty on their gear is if it breaks they fix it and if you can carry
it, it will hold it!

I never broke an ALICE pack frame in the 10 years I carried one. As a Ranger I carried more weight than most carry in their packs. I have broken some straps, but I keep an extra pair on hand just in case. I do not want to abandon my gear because I can't carry it all of a sudden due to breaking something that can be easily replaced.

All the gear we got at SERE was used, we never got any new gear, unless we were testing
products for LL BEAN. Once I tested an internal framed kelty pack, I never looked back.
