A good med kit is important. You never know when you or someone else is going to need attention. Aside from a normal kit, you will also need Dermabond versus suture. Some people are squeemish and dermabond or superglue gel works very well. I patched up a very large L cut in my chin with no scar.
Sulfur powder. the first antibacterial wound powder, Silver Swabs.. a major need
antibiotic ointment/cream,wound wash, some glucose tabs, bonine etc.

A good kit and training can be your best preparation for a medical emergency.

Great tips. It is important to have a first-aid kit or bigger medical kit with you in your pack. You never know what you will run into when you are trying to survive.
I've never used the Dermabond. Sounds like it really is great stuff though if you used it to patch up your chin and it left no scar. I'll have to look into that. Is it right at Wal-Mart type stores?

Cool thanks for sharing, mate. Many first-aid items can also have improvised uses in a survival situation. For example, alcohol pads and petroleum jelly-based ointments can be used as a fire-starting aid in an emergency, and the latter can even be used as an improvised lubricant for certain mechanical devices, and adhesive tapes and bandages can be used for repairs.

The medical/jump kit, are badly needed during a hazardous situation, specially during a wilderness trip, if your fellow friends are hurt, this kit will be there to help you out.
