As I've started to get my preparations rolling, I've realized that it will cost much more than I expected in order to get to the level of preparedness that I want. So I wondered what sort of budget other users have or how much they've spent on their gear/stockpiles.

I'm going to take the 5th on this one as my wife reads these boards from time to time...Lest she find out how much I've spent...

A lot less than it's going to cost to get this stuff after TSHF.
Simply put; Thousands. Literally. But it's been spread out over 3-4 years of acquisition.
Keep in mind, this is a lot of different stuff. 500 gal of diesel, a couple new guns, lots of ammo, several hundred canning jars and a couple thousand lids, all the food stores, feed and shelter for the goats and chickens and medical and personal hygiene products.
I've also collected a small shed's worth of old hand tools and farm implements but they were pretty cheap at auctions.

I'm in the range of $500-$700 so far but I've only been at this for roughly six months or so and I've got a long way to go. Wish I could afford to spend more but money is tight these days.
