I use a LOT of powdered milk and rotate it through my storage. The store where I used to get it no longer supplies this product. Does anyone know of a really good source? I'm especially interested in COST since I use a lot of it.

The Good Food Coop where I shop carries both the nofat dry milk and the dry whole milk from AADPI.

It's good stuff, their buttermilk powder is wonderful for use in breads, biscuits, and all kinds of things too.

I store it in vacuum sealed canning jars (the foodsaver will seal them).

It is called Nido. It is a Nestle product. It is available in most large grocery stores. It is especially available in Hispanic grocery stores. Since you are in Sacramento, you should have no problem finding it.

It reconstitutes nicely in cold water. I use it as coffee creamer and for that it must be pre-mixed as it will clump if spooned into hot coffee. It is also very moisture sensative. If you open a can for a trip and don't use it all, it will absorb moisture if not sealed properly. This doesn't cause it to go bad, but it makes it very difficult to dissolve. I put the remainder in a food saver bag and vacuum pack it along with a dessicant bag. This seems to prevent problems. It also means you should look for the small cans of Nido and avoid the #10 size cans.
