Anyone have an emergency preparation plan for your family? A good emergency preparation plan includes the following:

List of relatives to contact/possibly bunk with should a local disaster happen
List of locations that are good candidates to bug out to
List of current supplies, and any supplies that are desired (but you currently do not have)
A list of exactly what to do when you bug out (what important stuff to grab, such as computers, as well as supplies to grab)
Copies of vital records that would be necessary in the event of a large regional disaster, or national disaster (birth certificates, wills, social security cards, etc)

Many families discuss what to do in a house fire, yet few discuss what to do in the event of a natural or otherwise large disaster. Disaster preparation used to be a large part of society (such as the fallout shelters during the 50s and 60s), but hardly anyone plans ahead of time for these.

Fortunately we had prepared to face any disaster in whatever aspect possible. We have clear cut plans on how to possibly survive in most form of disasters. And we are thinking of how to involve our neighbors in our emergency plans.

While not prepared for everything, my family is prepared for the most common disasters for our area. Tornadoes, hurricanes, and flooding are the most likely. Although I like my neighbors, they aren't a part of my plan. Simply put, I have to look out for my family, not everyone else's. Of course, that's just my opinion.

I am constantly preparing for whatever may happen. I do not have everything I want, financially I can't just go out and buy it, so i get things as I can afford. My plan includes my kids, spouses, and grand kids joining us. I just cannot afford to take care of my neighbors as well. As it stands right now I have stores for about 2 weeks, plus what we have in our cupboards, fridge and freezer, and what the kids bring with them.

Now, i am not totally cruel. Since my generator will allow me to have my heat on, and we will have some level of comfort, if the neighbors can contribute at a level where everyone can be helped and no one excessively burdened, they will be welcomed. I just will not be the care taker of my neighborhood when people are not willing to prepare.

The only problem is once your neighbors see your food stashes, and they start to get hungry. People will do just about anything to survive, especially when they see it through hungry eyes.

If the SHTF, I might be cruel by not allowing others on my property, but that's the way it goes sometimes.

I am prepared if someone decides they want what is mine.

The last thing that I will have to do is to finish my "inner" fence wich is 10 feet from my home and all the way around it.........and set up the booby-traps inside of the same.
