PYONGYANG, June 15 (Xinhua) -- The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) has warned it would launch a pre-emptive attack against the United States.

Pak Jae Gyong, vice-minister of the DPRK People's Armed Forces, made the remark at a mass rally that attracted some 10,000 people to denounce a newly endorsed U.N. Security Council Resolution, the official KCNA news agency said Monday.

"Under the present situation where the Korean People's Army (KPA) is technically at war with the U.S. imperialists, and as the Armistice Agreement has lost its legal binding force, the KPA will promptly exercise the right to a pre-emptive strike to beat back the enemies' slightest provocation," Pak said.

He threatened to deliver blows to the "vital parts of the U.S." and "wipe out all its imperialist aggressor troops no matter where they are in the world."

The Democratic People's Republic of Korea (DPRK) holds a conference of 100,000 people to condemn United Nations Security Council 1874 Resolution, in Pyongyang, in this photo released on June 15, 2009 by Korean Central News Agency (KCNA).

Meanwhile, Kim Ki Nam, secretary of the Central Committee of the Workers' Party of Korea, told the rally that the U.N. resolution was "another grave provocation."

"This is, in essence, a wicked pressure offensive launched by the U.S. imperialists to disarm the DPRK, strangle its economy and undermine its ideology and system," Kim said.

The DPRK will respond to any attempt to blockade it with "resolute and deadly blows," he said.

The U.N. Security Council on Friday unanimously approved wider sanctions against the DPRK over its May 25 nuclear test.

The resolution bans all weapons exports from the DPRK and most arms imports into the country. It authorizes U.N. member states to inspect the DPRK's sea, air and land cargoes, requiring them to seize and destroy any goods transported in violation of the sanctions.

I cannot help but sigh when I hear about lil N.Korea posturing for the cameras. I understand that they have a huge military, a massive tunnel system and a few nuclear weapons but are they really that serious of a threat? If Kim did shoot some nukes off at the western seaboard of the US and actually hit something, that would be endgame for him. Even though he is a sociopath and a pure nutball, I dont think he is that stupid. Now too S.Korea and Japan, I can see him as a threat to them but the UN and the US would shove their noses into that situation just as they do in all situations dealing with what they consider their area of operations ie Earth.
Poor Kim, he really is kinda amusing in a creepy way huh? :D

Those crazy North Koreans are at it again...

From CNN.com:

North Korea test-fired a fourth short-range missile off its east coast Thursday, South Korea's Yonhap News Agency reported. North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's administration has become more aggressive in recent months.

North Korean leader Kim Jong Il's administration has become more aggressive in recent months.

South Korea's Defense Ministry had earlier confirmed three launches, but could not immediately be reached about the fourth reported missile.

The first three missiles were fired at 5:20 p.m., 6 p.m., and 7:50 p.m. local time from Sinsang-ni near the eastern coastal city of Wonsan, a ministry spokesman said.

A U.S. official told CNN "the missile firings come as no surprise."

"The North has been carrying out provocative acts for some time," said the official, who did not want to be named for security reasons. "North Korea needs to stop this type of activity and return to the process of bringing about a denuclearization of the Korean peninsula."

A U.S. intelligence official confirmed the test firings and said there are "no indications whatsoever" of an impending long-range missile test.

The intelligence official, who could also not be named for security reasons, said the launches came as no surprise because North Korea had issued a warning to mariners to avoid an area in the Sea of Japan at certain times between June 24 and July 9 because of a "military firing exercise," according to a U.S. military communication about the warning provided to CNN.

The North issued a similar warning before testing a long-range missile in April, but that warning indicated two potential danger areas more indicative of a long-range missile test.

Thursday's reported test comes amid heightened tensions on the Korean peninsula. North Korea conducted a nuclear test in May, fired test rockets and threatened U.S. and South Korean ships near its territorial waters.

Analyst Daniel Pinkston said the reported test might be training for a future test but it could also just be a routine military exercise.

"It is worrisome to some degree, but it is different from a ballistic missile launch," said Pinkston, of the International Crisis Group in Seoul, South Korea.

"It's part of military training, but there seem to be no movements of troops or anything that would suggest preparations for military operations.

"So yes, people are watching it, the military is watching it here, but I don't think it's related to any plans or operations to attack anyone."

Russia had a low-key reaction to the reported test. Russian military experts are carefully studying the reports but the launches will not change the political situation, a spokesman for Russia's Foreign Ministry said.

Poor lil Kim, he really does want some attention even if its negative and not at all productive. He really doesnt understand that the US is ready to start another war in Korea if giving an opportunity. Sad really, he has Little Big Man syndrome and it effects all the millions of North Koreans that need him ousted so they can have a shot at being happy and at peace.
