I was glad to see Bush go as well...I just wasn't happy to see Obama take over either...

Won't see me crying for Bush (his assault on individual liberties is astounding), but if Obama is the answer- it must have been a retarded question. Obama will be much more hated than Bush by the time he leaves office.

Don't start with that. That's too much of a cop-out. If anything was/is Bush's fault, the MSM will keep railing against Bush on it. However, Bush caught a lot of grief for policies enacted during Clinton's reign. Don't forget- Clinton had the option to take Osama Bin Laden out- and he passed on it.

It is not required that you salute during the national anthem. It is required that you salute during the Pledge of Allegiance. I am not aware of a time when Obama didn't salute for that.... One other thing, your faulting him for being different from the tools he was surrounded by, I consider that a strength on his part.

He's disrespecting this country, and you call that a positive note? He's not being an individual here, he's being disrespectful. There *IS* a difference.

So... I was going to write another message stating that it isn't required to hold your hand over your heart during the anthem, but I decided to do some in depth research first..... What I found out was that it is actually required that those not in the military must hold there hand over their heart. What I also found which seems even of more importance, is that most people are unaware of this or confused about what is proper.... myself being one of them until today, and I was so sure I was right..... The only thing I can say is that I highly doubt Obama ment any disrespect from not holding his hand over his heart. By the way, over 60% of the people I found online talking about this subject also believed it was a preferance to hold your hand over your heart or not... So that either means that a very high proportion of American's are being very disrespectful, or the subject at hand is simply not well known as fact..... First, sorry I was originally wrong.. Second, I think the bigger problem is that most American's don't know proper etique, even when it comes to simple flag etique.

I do appreciate it when someone can acknowledge when they were wrong or made a mistake. So for that I say thanks to Amnon because it would have been easier to just let the thread die without admitting the mistake.

That would have been much easier, but I've never been one for doing things the easy way
