I just picked one of these up at REI and couldn't be happier...This has a large capacity (96 oz.) and is great for water transport or purification...just drop in some purification tablets and drink from your main bottle/container while this canteen is purifying...plus it rolls/folds up small when not in use...

It seems to be very good. It is always nice to have a multi functional canteens. Further it can be folded to reduce their sizes when not in use. This is indeed a very good one.

I use something very similar. Its from Platypus. Mine is a two liter bag with a wide mouth zip lock closure at the top. the fully opening top means I can just scoop from a stream like a pail. it also has a webbing handle, so I can carry it like a pail too. I can hook up the hose from my camelback to it and drink straight from the reservoir if I want to. i think it cost about $15 at REI

Have you taken this on a hike yet? I prefer the Katadyn filters but here is the REI comparison
Problem with tablets is they don't always kill everything and many people can have allergic reactions to them. Filters work better and remove more. Tablets do not kill parasites.

yeah its a very good idea , there are some positive advantages with this, i.e, Sturdy and reliable Collapsible and flexible. But the main demerit is that they have a thin surface and Shouldn't be exposed to sharp objects.

Of course , this can be kept handy, but at times they are likely to get damaged because they are not made up of strong materials and might lead to leakage.
