Who makes the best book or guide for which wild plants are edible? I'm in the Rocky Mountain area, if that helps. Thanks!

Personally, I have this one at home, and think it's pretty good:

I did some research on this, and purchased the recommended book. There is an Army field manual that some say is pretty good- anyone have a link to that?

The Army Survival Manual has that info. They sell it here.

That cheaper than dirt site has a lot of cool older Army field manuals that were decently priced. Could anyone tell me where to find other military manuals like those, as well older Boy Scout manuals also?

Military Surplus stores carry Army Field manuals, but they are priced higher than places like Cheaper than Dirt. Another place I have seen field manuals is at gun shows.

You could try used book stores in your area for older Boy Scout Manuals, or go to where the local Boy Scouts buy their uniforms and gear. In my town that is a store that specializes in uniforms and gear for school sports uniforms. I have also seen Boy Scout gear at a few surplus stores I have been in.

Another way to find stuff like this is at flea markets and garage sales. I don't frequent them too often myself, but I have found some stuff when coerced into going with SWMBO (She Who Must Be Obeyed).

Thanks for the links on the manuals and for the Enlisted site. I also appreciate the pointers about finding manuals and books at yard sales and fleamarkets. I really am suprised at all the free downloads for the military manuals. Thanks!! :D

I must have missed this post the first time around. Thanks for giving this thread new life. There is a ton of downloadable info in those manuals. Glad I didn't miss it this time around!
