I have heard of some farmers using a llama or two to help defend their small livestock from wolves and other predators. This is a very very bad idea. Llamas are basically defenseless against predators! The idea of using llamas to defend is because llamas are very bold and will not back down from a predator... but often a desperate predator will attack anyway, killing the poor defenseless llama, and other livestock as well. Please don't use llamas as guard animals. Dogs are much better suited for this sort of work!

Yeah, I agree with you. Dogs are much natural animal that could defend itself when compared to llama. It is sad to know that people are still using llama for these dangerous tasks.

Awww. this is really sad that people would sacrifice lammas like this. I guess they have their priorities all mixed up.

Llamas aren't good for using as a defending animal. I would rather someone buy a dog and train it for that reason, Llamas are better for the menu.

I wish Llama burgers were available at the local grocery store here in my vicinity.

Llamas will scare off a predator, and they don't get killed very often out west. Having a Llama die is better than livestock, which a dog might fight if it's the wrong breed. Besides, wolves kill dogs, too.
