One of the most common things about homesteading is crafts. Many people begin to learn to do arts and crafts like rug making, sewing, clay work etc.
And many people enter these into the local fair. Has anyone ever considered doing that.
I enter every year and its all about the bragging rights and ribbon.

It's not exactly crafts, but this past summer I entered some photography and one a blue ribbon for one of my pictures. Though I wasn't going to enter the picture that one but all my family said I should. I thought I had some other great pictures that would win. Turns out the only photo that won a ribbon was the one picture I wasn't going to enter but my family convinced me to.

My wife is a photographer, and enters the fair every year. This year, she took first, second, and third place- as well as best of show. She was pretty excited!
