They're already attacking gun rights:

http://wnd.com/index.php?fa=PAGE.view&pageId=86039

The time before an assault weapons ban is passed is slowly coming towards us, along with possible required registration of firearms. In addition, with this law, common citizens will no longer be able to sell a firearm as if it was just another piece of property (no transactions except through a FFL). This is pure madness!

While more than just a little inconvenience, I think cooler heads will prevail regarding gun ownership.

ON the other hand, since licenses are required to teach and to drive cars, and both of these require finger printing of some sort, I see nothing wrong with requiring the same documentation for gun ownership.

Just keep a secret stash for your heavy artillery.

This is not an inconvenience. It is an assault on our Constitutionally protected rights. It does not state anywhere in the constitution that the right to own a car shall not be infringed. It does say that in the Second Amendment about the right to bear arms. If you look at history, every time a government had a gun registry, it was just used to know where they were to take them away. Hitler's reign in Germany is a perfect example of that. You can also look at how they accomplished this in Canada, England and Australia. Also take a look at how these countries violent crime rates have increased since this has happened.

Since many of the States have adopted laws allowing concealed carry of guns, none of the problems the anti gun organizations predicted have come true. In fact in most areas the violent crime rates have been reduced. If you notice, the cities with the strictest gun control laws such as Washington DC, Chicago, and New York City have the worst violent crime rates in the country. The only city that does not seem to follow this trend is Detroit, but that has been an out of control battle ground for years.

If Obama and his people have their way, the only people who will have guns are criminals, and law abiding citizens will be left defenseless.

Gun ownership is a right. Driving on public roads, or selecting a career in a trade which requires a certification, is a privledge. Gun ownership is a constitutional right. How would you feel about someone being required to take a test before they can vote?
