I'd like to have something more durable and reliable than the new balance I'm wearing should I ever have to be out in the elements for an extended period of time. I'm looking for something waterproof, warm, relatively lightweight, and durable. Suggest me with some ideas....

Before buying anything that has a brand name to it, look to the opinions of other travelers. You can not rely on the advice given to you by travel and camping shops. I have other experiences whereby expensive recommended items have failed and I shall add these for your consideration.

Yes I have to agree that name and cost mean nothing. Check with fellow hickers or even outdoor workers. They will have the best kind in your area.

I used to do a lot of hiking at college and a good pair of boots is really a must. The last thing you need is wet feet or blisters.
